The premiere season of USA Network’s Mr. Robot is so good that we had to start writing about it. This will be our weekly recap of the series. The post below is chock full of spoilers, so if you haven’t seen episode 7 of the first season, “v1ew-s0urce,” it’s probably a good idea to hold off on this post. 1. Sometimes a robot needs to reboot

We’ve been saying it since Week 1 — when Mr. Robot took off on a frenetic pace that seemed unsustainable — this show needs to pause at some point. It needs to take a breath. We can’t ride the roller coaster (or ferris wheel, I guess) indefinitely.

Through six weeks, showrunner Sam Esmail (who directed this episode), seemed to laugh in the face of that. We had heists. We had prison breaks. We had child porn…
